Teacher Appreciation Week is March 10th -14th

We are excited to show our teachers and staff some love during Teacher Appreciation week (March 10- 14)! If you would like to help out, please see the links below to volunteer your time or donate a snack item. If your child would like to send in a note or flower or something extra, that is always welcomed, but not expected. Thank you for supporting the Chief PTO!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended the Saved by the Bend event on Friday and those who participated in the Online Auction! Thank you to Mary Ashley Twitty and KayLi Williams for chairing the event and Jamie Henderson, Katherine Erickson, Ellen Miles and Ashley Farlow for chairing our Online Auction. We are so thankful for all of your hard work in planning a fabulous and memorable night! We would also like to thank our wonderful donors - individuals, parents, and businesses who all donated amazing items that helped the auction be so successful! We could not have done it without you and we are so appreciative of your support of Cherokee Bend.

Honoring Mr. Rick Hedrick

Our 6th grade students led a celebration of life for Mr. Rick Hedrick on Friday, February 28th. Although his presence at CBS is deeply missed, we know the legacy of his teachings will be carried though the halls of our school for years to come. Here are a few photos from the celebration of life.

Donations to FOAC made in Rick's honor will be allocated toward the construction of a new trail and the enhancement of the FOAC area, ensuring that his vision and spirit live on within our school community.

***Many of you have asked about purchasing one of these amazing Mr. Hedrick shirts. We are sending out a link shortly that will have details on how to order.

Please complete the enrollment & registration of your current student by March 5

On February 3rd, Mountain Brook Schools began enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. As a parent of a currently enrolled student, you should have received an email containing a student specific link required for data verification for the upcoming year. This link will allow you to verify your child’s demographic information and permissions, as well as your child’s contact and check-out list. The primary contact listed for each child will receive the email. Each family will receive one email per child. We ask that you make every effort to complete this brief process before March 5th. Only students with verified information will be placed on a class roster or receive a class schedule for the upcoming school year.

Thank you for taking the time to verify your child’s information in preparation for the upcoming school year!

Mountain Brook Schools, the City of Mountain Brook, and ALL IN Mountain Brook have partnered together to provide a local crisis line for our community. With increased trends in anxiety, depression, and mental health needs, national and local resources have quickly become overwhelmed. Wait times for national hotline numbers are not conducive to individuals who need help quickly.

The Mountain Brook Crisis Line is a helpline that can be accessed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week to help support you or your child as you are navigating some of life’s most challenging times. This crisis line is supported by trained crisis counselors who work to support, de-escalate, and provide local resources to the caller. In the event of imminent danger, the Crisis Counselor is connected to local dispatch services and can help our local departments conduct wellness checks that may prove to be life-saving.

The Mountain Brook Crisis Line is active and available for all Mountain Brook residents. The line can be reached by calling 205-92SAVES or texting 205-927-2837.
